I really appreciated your Essence of Japan summary. What can you tell me about clothing? Is it possible to do this whole trip with just a carry-on and backpack (usually the way we roll)? We have an extra day in Tokyo before the gift of time. What would you suggest doing.......I saw the palace and gardens. The palace sounded crowded, but I expect everything is. We leave October 22. We are NOT at the Shangri-La but at the Conrad Tokyo. Hope it is as nice. Thanks for any further tips for the Tokyo portion. Thanks so much!!!!
