  Can you tell me what was the mode of "dress" for the onsen, especially the baths? we are leaving next week for Essence trip and very excited. Thanks in advance for your help. any other advice appreciated.

    No clothing is worn in the onsens, not even a swimsuit. I suggest some Google research on what to expect. That is what I did, and it made me more comfortable about the experience.

    Thanks; I did that too and it has helped us understand and get prepared and excited for the adventure. Since I have you, crazy question: were there coffee pots in the rooms at the hotels? My wife needs her coffee in the am. Thanks and Happy travels!!

    I think all of the hotels had some sort of pod coffee maker. Not sure about the Onsen.
