Sealord - You have unique experiences, having lived in India and SE Asia for lengthy times, that probably 95% or more of Tauck travelers don't have. For me personally, the Protrait of India Tour and the Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand tours rank just below our Kenya/Tanzania tour and our Peru/Galapagos tour, which puts them higher than various European tours we've taken. Note - We toured China and Australian/New Zealand prior to discovering Tauck. Touring those places via Tauck could have them ranked very high as well. My ranking is mostly based on uniqueness of the wildlife and differences of the cultures. That is why for me personally the European tours, while still exceptionally fun and enjoyable, rank lower. Bottom line - having just completed the Portrait of India tour last year, I would highly recommend it.

I read two books on hte tour, unheard of on a Tauck tour which are usually so busy. I really should be sewing masks right now!

Part 2. Morning tour. Many of us asked if we could pay to take any afternoon tours but the answer was no, so in that respect the tour was Disappointing. I know it’s too late, it if it gets canceled again, maybe chose another tour and leave Iceland in your wish lost or do a land tour on your own. We have two couple friends who did that, many of the sites are within throwing distance of Reykjavik. Oh and Reykjavik was a bit of a disappointment for us.

Sam, I think the Iceland tour must be an exception compared to pretty much any other tours in having such a huge price Increase. I’m convinced it is Ponant driving these prices, not Tauck. Tauck have no obligation to actually give us credit for the cost of the insurance but they do. They are still the best out there for giving people credits and the like. The Covid crisis is not their fault. For me, it was the misinformation We got from different Tauck agents. I assume you realized the price increase before you booked, so you knew what you were letting yourself in for.
The Iceland tour you will be taking with Tauck was the new itinerary that we took, it turned out to be far inferior in quality than the old tour, you see far less and spend a huge amount of time just on the ship which has little if no entertainments during the day, we had the choice of things like origami. It was difficult to book a spa treatment because you could not guarantee what time you would be back from the.....

Settled in, saw the sights, learned the territory, and most importantly: gave back.
