Re: Rush My Passport
Mike - They shipped the new passport from Arizona (I think) even though you ship your application to Philadelphia.
This is shocking. It seems like nothing gets shipped from Arizona (based on how long it takes us to get anything). You know, we're in the Wild West and the pony express is kind of slow. 😂😂
Re: Non Disclosure of total costs- AWFUL!
Sandy Feet, that is what we thought of our TD in Namibia, just an amazing guy with a photographic memory. He could tell you everything about every animal, bird and vegetation and tell you what page of the books he provided you would find more information. I hope your report helps make this tour a success for Tauck because years ago they went to Namibia but not for long, it was not popular.

Re: Scandinavia May 20 tour
tomh - Borge was brilliant. His phonetic punctuation routine was a masterpiece. I have visited his gravesite in Greenwich, Connecticut where half his ashes are interred with a replica of the little mermaid sitting on a rock above the site. The rest of his ashes are interred in Denmark close to his parents.

Re: Scandinavia May 20 tour
kfnknfzk. I remember that Borge returned every year during the summertime to perform at Tivoli Gardens, when I happened to see him there. He would switch from English to Danish to French and half a dozen other languages to perform his comedy and music. I was just lucky that summer of 1971 to be there then (I had seen him, of course, on US TV shows earlier, so I knew him from it.) Tivoli was a lovely experience for me then. I remember speaking with a Danish grandmother in the Gardens then and she encouraged me to see more of her lovely country. :-)
Re: Air Travel to Tanzania
When we took this tour years ago, we used Delta and then KLM in Amsterdam. That is the flight that often your bags don’t make it into the plane in Amsterdam. Just one flight a day, so you get them 24 hours
These days we use Qatar to Doha and on to Arusha. This is what we are doing when we go in a couple of months. I do not recommend going via Nairobi, became you will need a Kenya visa if you do that.

Re: Dinners seating?
I can fill you in a bit, having taken the tour in April...my 15th with Tauck.
A post I wrote above ,mentioned various challenges on the trip....Having written that, I will now mention more of the positives...
The hotels were beautiful. (My post above, tells of the challenges when we were in the Japanese hotel.))
Tauck always picks lovely hotels.
The food was excellent, wherever we were.
The itinerary was excellent too....we were very immersed in the Japanese culture.
The variety of the sites, activities , and meals, truly gave us an understanding and appreciation of their culture.
The rides on the bullet trains were fun. Tauck has seats reserved. Be prepared to do a lot of walking within the train stations.
The Japanese people were incredibly gracious and friendly. We found this to be true wherever we went.
And Japan is the cleanest country I have ever been in...not a speck of litter anywhere.
We were able to use credit cards all over.
You will enjoy this trip.
Re: Rush My Passport
The $60 expedite fee really does work. Should see your new passport in 2-3 weeks.
Re: Scandinavia May 20 tour
I adored Victor Borge (birth name, Børge Rosenbaum). He had extraordinary talent as a pianist, comedian and conductor. Like many Danish Jews, he found safe harbor in Sweden when the Nazi's invaded Denmark and subsequently became a U. S. citizen. But he always returned to his beloved homeland to perform. I saw him perform/conduct in København, as well as at the New York Philharmonic.
Yes, tomh, Tivoli lost its charm quite some time ago because of tourism, but the gardens are nice and the children love the rides.

Re: Luggage for Victoria Falls
We took this trip in 2022. No one in our group left luggage at J-burg when we flew to Vic Falls.
