  • We were in Tanzania in July, the Bridges tour. we enjoy that time of year and there is a chance you will see the migration. We took Tanzania Zanzibar ten years ago at the same time. Having taken K and T twice, I think the Tanzania Z. tour is great value and I prefer the area over the K and T tour.

  • Stellie, I loved being Tanzania the last two weeks of August. I have never seen more lions on any of the other four safaris I have been fortunate to take. 🦁🦁🦁🦁

  • Thanks British & SandyFeet. It looks ilke there is avail in July, August and September. It would be a real bonus to see the migration.
One other quick question if you don't mind answering Which airline did you ladies use to get to Kilimanjaro International Airport? I like to go Business class with as few stops as possible. I'd end the trip by flying out of Zanzibar.
British I thought after 2 back to back trips I'd be done with Africa but now in the gathering darkness, deep behind my soul, someone ,something, whispers "Africa." I will return.

  • Yes Stellie, it is now in your blood! We fly Qatar these days. Emirates does not fly from Philly. At one time, the only airline that flew to JRO was Delta;KLM. I think Turkish flies there too.
The good thing about the Tanzania Zanzibar tour is you avoid Nairobi in Kenya.
I was saying to our TD in Tanzania in July, that for us, Tanzania is Africa’s little Secret…and he agreed. It’s just that Kenya was better at publicity when safaris became the in thing. Tanzania has the Serengeti!

  • We booked Turkish Airlines business from JFK to Istanbul with a tight connection from Istanbul to Kilimanjaro. For the return we are going from Zanzibar to Istanbul and Istanbul to JFK with a 2:50 connection.

a few years ago, we did J&E with Turkish (ATL - IST - AMM & CAI - IST - ATL) in Business and were quite pleased.
