Cancel for any reason Insurance recommendation
I am taking two Tauck trips. I know Tauck offers insurance. I do have one trip that is not Tauck, am wondering if someone can recommend an insurance outside of Tauck that offers "cancel for any reason"? I LOVE Tauck and their insurance is great. I always get it, but this other trip is with a youth group,so I don't think I can get Tauck insurance
I hope this is okay to ask for this kind of help. Search of the forums just spoke about medical insurance, nothing about "cancel for any reason". TIA

I have never purchased CFAR outside of Tauck, but have received prompt reimbursements from Travel Guard and Travelex for documented illness. They appear to both sell CFAR insurance.
Look at insuremytrip.com. You will find many policies but CFAR is an “add on”. It is costly and usually does not pay the full cost of your trip. Insuremytrip is a licensed broker. If you need help and call customer service the person you speak with will be a licensed insurance broker.
I need to correct an error and I apologize, the above should say that I have received prompt payments for illness from Travel Guard and Allianz. (I have purchased Travelex in the past but never needed to file a claim there.)
We have used the website Squaremouth. It is a popular site that a lot of people use. There are many different insurances companies on there to choose from at different levels. We now also use an insurance that our annual evacuation insurance offer for non-Tauck tours. CRAR is indeed an add on and it is expensive. This is when you realize that Tauck’s insurance, though it seems expensive, is not. And yes, if you have to claim, you do not get the full amount back. Last year, we had to cancel a non-Tauck tour using the. CFAR and received 70% of the tour price back.
When we use other insurance companies, we don’t generally get the. CFAR because we figure we would never. CFAR, so it’s fortunate we did for that trip. It was for an unusual destination and it turns out there were riots, shootings, canceled flights etc, so we decided not to go. After being stranded outside of the country when Covid began, we did not want to worry our family again.
Depending on the cost of your tour, it might not be worth getting CFAR, and just get regular insurance. Figure out your chances you would just CFAR, rather than for illness, which would be covered by the regular insurance.
Thank you everyone. You have provided great information for us to look into and consider.
