    Cathy - You see hundreds of elephants on K&T as well at multiple sights. Here is a shot of some elephants with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. This is at the Amboselli stop, which has the highest concentration of elephants. On our K&T tour the Big 5 animal that we saw the least was the leopard.

    Say what!?!?! :'( That was during the Botswana, SA, Zambia trip and you saw 5 lions and 2 cheetahs at Mikuni Big Five in Livingstone, correct? As you know, I believe we went on that trip earlier the same year . . . so, to add insult to injury . . . . :D:D:D

    At the Khwai River Lodge:

    This poor juvenile leopard is eating scraps- a pack of hyenas had just stolen her kill! :'(

    As long as we are talking about the cats, let's not forget about the dogs and other members of the canine family:

    Well see- you can up your cat count to 10 lions , 2 leopards, and 2 cheetahs! :)

    In the 'dog (canine)' category, on the K&T we saw numerous hyenas and jackals. In the 'deer' category we saw numerous eland, gazelles (lots of varieties), topi, wildebeest, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, zebra, ... In the 'big fella (other than elephants)' category we saw numerous giraffe (two types), hippos, and rhinos (only saw rhinos in Kenya). Saw numerous varieties of 'monkeys'. Numerous birds, crocodiles, warthogs, and various other animals.

    Great photos everyone ! I don't remember seeing any wild dogs on K&T.

    The pool, the grounds, the hippos, and our deluxe tent at the Fairmont Mara Safari Club overlooking the Mara river. We could hear the hippos grunting and snoring for most of the night. There had to be 50 of them yet in the mornings they were all gone somewhere else on the river. We had to keep the tent flaps zipped and tied shut or else the monkees would open them and help themselves to food.

    Sunrise at the Ngorongoro Crater. It was freezing at night and in the morning and the rooms were supplied with hot water bottles. We even obtained a heater from the manager.
