Re: Elephant café
I would book now, it is very popular. If you get the chance I would recommend the boat. When we went (2022) it was a high speed motor boat that ran through some of the rapids on the Zambesi and provided lots of opportunity for pictures of Elephants and hippos on the banks and in the water as well as crocs if you are lucky. They will come and pick you up at the Royal Livingstone Lobby. At the sanctuary itself you will see rescued elephants which you will be allowed to feed. Zebras were also close by. The lunch itself was pretty good. It is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Zambia, but I bever confirmed that. Quality is like a higher end US restaurant. Enjoy! Sample shots of the day we went below.

Re: Canadien Capitals and Niagara Falls 2024
Tauck covers your dinners both evenings in Montreal. You can choose your own time for dinner in the hotel the first night; the next night Tauck will take the group to a restaurant in the old town area. My preference would be to not miss that dinner. Perhaps you can visit the Basilica beforehand on the first night? You can check the hotel's website for dinner hours. If you need to miss that dinner (first night), it might be possible for the tour director to give you a voucher for a light meal in the lounge after your Basilica visit. They can do wonders!
Good luck. We enjoyed this tour immensely.

Re: Bayeux Tapestry
Thanks, again, mfrancis. The tapestry was not part of our London > Paris > Seine tour last spring. How fortunate for you and MCD to view it in person!

Re: Bayeux Tapestry
I loved seeing that tapestry on the Loire Valley, Normandy & Brittany tour. So much history on that tour!
Re: Switzerland CrownJewel-Money
Just came back - used a Credit Card. Used up my Swiss Francs in a chocolate shop (but a Credit Card would’ve worked!).

Bayeux Tapestry
We’re currently on the Rendezvous on the Seine tour. Our local guide told us that the Bayeux Tapestry Museum will be closed to the public in September 2025 for approximately 2 years for a major renovation. I asked our Tauck TD’s how that will impact their tours during that period; they don’t have info yet, think they’ll probably still go to the town of Bayeux without seeing the tapestry. I thought those of you who are planning tours that include it would like to know.

Re: Sports Coat
Not going to get in a clothes ‘discussion’ with a clothes expert. You win. (;-)

Blue grass tour
My husband and I recently went on the bluegrass tour from Louisville to Nashville (May 2024) and it exceeded our expectations. This was my 6th Tauck Tour and we were lucky to have Stacie as our guide. At every turn there was special entertaining talks or music. The talk from a longtime jockey at Churchill Downs, bourbon tasting and tour at Maker’s Mark, interesting tours at the horse farms, music by a bluegrass band before and after dinner in Lexington, a very interesting talk by Laura Boosinger who entertained us at the Blueridge Parkway visitor’s center. In Nashville where Kent Blazy who is an American country music songwriter played and talked to us. His credits include several singles for Garth Brooks. It was awesome hearing all his stories and listening to him play and sing. As well as going to the Grand Ole Opry. The hotels were all great as well. And you do not need a jacket at for dinner at the Biltmore hotel. The dress on the whole tour was casual. We thought the food was really good and when it wasn’t included, Stacie gave us a list of restaurants close to the hotel.
