Re: Scotland England and Wales vs Adriatic Treasures or Sicily?
Thanks for all the comments! Claudia, I will more than likely make a spring trip-either April, May or early June. I don’t care for the heat so summer is out. I live in Dallas Tx and get enough heat here!
Re: Scotland England and Wales vs Adriatic Treasures or Sicily?
We took The Sicilian Odyssey trip--NOT the one that Mike Henderson is referring to--last year and absolutely loved, loved, loved it. Our TD was one of the best we've every had, and that's saying a lot after 16 tours.
Re: Scotland England and Wales vs Adriatic Treasures or Sicily?
I have not taken ESW and have not been to Sicily, but I will tell you that Adriatic Treasures is tied for #2 favorite of my 17 Tauck trips. I enjoyed seeing how the different areas of Croatia were so different, enjoyed our trips into Montenegro (a long drive, though) and Bosnia and Herzogovina and absolutely fell in love with Slovenia. I highly recommend it.
Europe 2025 Land Tour Prices Finally Out
For those waiting to see prices and itineraries for 2025, seems Tauck has finally posted them. River cruise prices have been out about 2 months. The agent I spoke with today said yes this was very late this year. Tauck facebook said the 2025 books should be out next month.

Re: Teeny Tiny Duffel for Namibia
Hi All, REI is having a great sale now. I did pick up 2 pr Icebreaker leggings and a long sleeve with the REI brand. Ordered some other items from REI online on sale.REI allows a 1 yr return policy so whatever I do not want to pack I can return before my trip. Very impressed with how soft the items are. I am focusing on 100% merino wool tops and some blends for pants and leggings. Hope to buy a dress from WoolX and some pants from Unbound which is top of the line but they are out of stock on sizes I need until July.
Re: The Last Supper
We just got back from Venice yesterday, and I have to say our TD, Alexa, was one of the best we have had with Tauck (bene, bene!) She is so positive, bright, caring, and had such a great handle on our small groups itinarary. We picked this trip over a few others (best of Switzerland). The trip begins in Milan, where we independently booked the Last Supper and Duomo in advance. It's a big city and definitely the fashion capital...all the posing done by social media wannabes with their iPhone paparazzi made us chuckle. Milan was our least favorite city, but the trip just kept getting better and better with stays in Stresa, Verona, Bologna and Venice.Good food and wine, and Formula 1 was in Monza (30 minutes north of Bologna) while we were there. This trip does allow you plenty of free time to explore, which is good as we were allowed to venture out on our own for lunched or dinners away from the group, or just some rest in advance of the next activity or meal. Venice was our favorite city, and to have breakfast at the Riva Lounge @ the Gritti Palace was perfect. One of the best tips in advance of this trip was to download city maps with Google Maps, as it made the walking to our destinations so much easier. Highly recommend this Tauck trip. If you get Alexa as your Tour Director, you should count your lucky stars. She was a delightful treasure.
Re: Travel from Kyoto Station on 25 March 2025 to Narita Airport
We returned from Kitsani in Osaka. There are 2 airports in Osaka. It was a 90 min drive to there from Four Seasons in an immaculate, AC, minivan. When we got to the airport a women in uniform holding a Tauck sign was waiting for us. She escorted us to our baggage checkin lines and waited until we were done. After that she escorted us to security and waited until we entered the secure area. No stress wondering where to go in the airport terminal. On another note do use the visit Japan web site and print, or save that QR code to enter the country. Tauck sent us exactly what to put on the form beforehand via my email request. While you do NOT HAVE to have the code, if you don’t you need to step out of line to fill out the paper form. Unfortunately we landed at the same time as several other flights and it was a gigantic long line that moved but would not want any more delay that we could avoid. Also some of our tour companions arrived earlier than just one day and the concierge, hotel staff at the Shangra-La helped them secure a private guide, or tickets to an attraction that was not on our tour. You will be well guided by Tauck or the hotel staff if you let them know what it is you require. Enjoy your trip!
Re: Briggs and Riley Duffle Luggage Question
On tour Tauck will handle them for you. But if you plan any independent travel that involves trains you’ll need to lift it on board, store it in transit (the storage areas are not large) where you can see it then unload it. I looked at those duffels on line. They are huge! I know you say you can’t pack light but watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDn9l20NlWw
