If we're going down the 'free wish' street, then I wish they'd give free airfare. 😂

There are companies who include airfare, but the cost is included in the price of the tour/cruise. Regent Seven Seas is one that does it for cruise. I think Silversea offers it as an option.

  • BKMD - That seat you described is still worth over $1000 on long international trips. I'd pay the upgrade fee so I could sit with the Eye Doctors. :)

  • Mike - including airfare doesn't make it free, unless it is included for your price but not for others at the same price.

We are talking about 'free', not 'included'.

Perhaps Tauck should start a loyalty program more similar to what the airlines offer. You accrue points based on the $ you spend. Then you can use those accrued points on a later tour in a fashion you see fit - pay for a tour, pay for extra nights, pay for airfare Tauck arranges, etc.

  • Sam is full of great ideas today! Just yesterday, I got a free slice of cheesecake for desert at my local Vietnamese restaurant from the rewards points I'd accrued over the last few months. :)

  • I have vacillated over the idea of a loyalty program. On one hand, it would certainly be nice for those of us who have been loyal to the brand over the years. On the other hand, Tauck would just raise the price of their tours in order to pay for it so it definitely would not be a free lunch (although it would be a partially subsidized one). If they do launch a program, I do feel they should differentiate status based on dollars spent. Paying $18K for Grand Australia/New Zealand is not the same as paying $6K for Canyonlands.

  • They do have a loyalty program. It’s called the circle 25 program for anyone who has taken at least 20 tours. You can get GOT whenever you book and there are occasional amazing discounts on a selected tour. I can’t usually take advantage of that because I’m generally already booked on a tour at the same time as the one offered.
I’m just surprised now that people who have only taken a few tours are getting gifts. And when people here on the forum mention the number of people on their tour, they never seem full anymore even when on the web page says sold out.

  • British - we were suggesting one similar to the airlines, not one that requires that you spend $250,000 before you become eligible.

  • Tauck only has contracts with certain airlines and they are not always as direct as other airlines or routes. They mainly stopped one of the perks of booking with them, at one time you never paid for the flight until six weeks before the start of the tour.
