Gift of Time?

Is Tauck still doing the Gift of Time? I booked a new trip and for the first time in a long time they didn't show a Gift of Time. I thought I always got it as a previous traveler.

  • There is a deadline involved. Reservations for 2026 trips must have been booked by July 31, 2025 to qualify for GOT. Availability is another factor.

  • You have to book it before July 31 for the following year. If you booked after that, the Gift of Time will not be given. You can also call up Tauck and see what happens. At times, squeaky wheels can get heard.

The deadline used to be September but it’s about two years since they changed it to July.
If you are a Circle 25 customer, you can get GOT anytime.
And don’t forget to ask for GOT because.not all agents will tell you about it.

  • British, what is a Circle 25 customer? 25+ trips or more with Tauck?

  • It’s a fairly new thing. 20 plus tours with the GOT any time and a dedicated phone number to call to book tours. Occasional offers. What is your tour count?

Six tours with Tauck so far, British. I'm a retired flight attendant, and enjoy being pampered in many special ways with Tauck!😉

  • That job needs a medal for bravery these days for dealing with crazy people.

Thank you, British. I flew for Ozark Airlines, TWA, and finally retired with American Airlines. It's not the same world we grew up in, and certainly a different flying public.

    I could share some stories......LOL!

So grateful every day for discovering Tauck, it's my reward for a job well done 🙌

  • I found that you have to actually ask for the GOT when you book. The agent does not ususally mention it. A few did when we said we wanted to come early.

  • The advisors always mention GOT when I book. Once I was on the waitlist for a trip and the July 31st timeline had passed. Once I was confirmed foe the trip, I asked for the GOT and received it. (I was on the waitlist prior to July 31st--perhaps that was a consideration)

  • Most often, we have had to ask for the GOT. Also, always be sure not to forget to be sure you get the insurance when you want it. Tauck had to hire so many new agents post pandemic, they are not all experienced. My husband called last week, the Tauck special Tauck circle 100 line and the agent did not know who he was because I think that my name appears there not his.

  • Like PureLuxury, I have never had to ask for the Gift of Time (GoT). We typically book pre-and-post tour days and the agent always lets me know that “xxx hotel is the more expensive one so that is where you will enjoy your GoT.”

  • Before I ever call Tauck I already have a pretty good idea whether I want extra days (GoT or paid), how many, which end of the tour (or both). When I call I make sure the info is included. I also watch the invoices come in from Tauck to make sure any requests have been added, the hotel price if they know it then, etc. It's great when they take care of things seamlessly but we always need to be our own advocates. Part of that is reading, researching, and keeping track of stuff.
