Re: Just back from Kenya, Tanzania & Rwanda gorillas
We also walk four or five miles a day, but I did find it tough. We also had Anna and she was able to do the gorilla hike with us as we had three very young children on our tour, so they and their mother could not go. The tickets are person specific but Anna was able to swing it to change the mother’s ticket to her name, she was so thrilled as Tauck does not pay for the TDs as it is $1,500 each for an hour.

Re: Hiring a driver
Yes. I had to wear one too. Pretty sure that contributed to my fall as it was far too long.

Re: Hiring a driver
My "Jerusalem, the Red Sea and Petra" tour included the Citadel and Roman Theatre. I stayed an extra day and arranged a trip to the King Abdullah Mosque through the hotel concierge. I was surprised that even though I was dressed completely appropriately for a mosque (headscarf, long sleeves and long pants), I still had to don what I called a "Jawa" robe (a nod to Star Wars there). I'm convinced that it was because we had to go through the gift shop to get it and take it off.
Re: Hiring a driver
In general, the driver stays with the car. You need a tour guide in addition to a driver. The concierge can arrange for a tour guide.
And you should get a tour guide.

Cathy great pictures, brought back memories and wishes to go back. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
Re: 2022 October 27-November 15 Northern India/Nepal Tauck
Yes. They get sent to the places where you can pay to shoot them next.

Re: Abercrombie & Kent - Comparison with Tauck
Kfnknfzk, yes it is necessary. I’ve seen messages occasionally meant for just one person to see and everyone has the potential to see it. And when itself someone making unkind remarks, that is not good.

Re: French escapade august 2024 trip report
Cathy: Thanks so much for posting your pics and comments. Looks like it was a very jam packed active tour. I just love how you and Steve coordinate your outfits.

Lovely pictures and commentary. A great experience and it shows. :-) Being single, I have never had a camera on any of the Tauck tours I have taken and just have the good memories (any less than good ones, there were none. I just forget about them). :-) Regarding the Intercontinental in Paris, in 1985 I was on a small 19 day "wine & dine" (not Tauck) tour of France, led by a wine club lady in NYC (she was American and her husband a French importer in NYC); in Paris, we stayed at the famous Crillon Hotel (gorgeous but not up to modern standards inside then) and her husband, the Frenchman, stayed at the Intercontinental as it was modern and uptodate, his choice. LOL.:-)

Those mussels! And you made it up to Montmartre on the little trolley! I have some questions, but I'll wait until you have posted the rest of your great photos.
