Re: Recent K&T Classic travelers: please advise re duffel
We packed ours lightly and checked them both ways. Some on our tour put the duffle in their suitcase

Thanks. Those articles are fairly well hidden, so I’m a bit surprised you saw them. I think what happened was this: While visiting a school in Africa we decided to make a ‘donation’ to the school. (via the TD) I think the transaction may have been overheard, and it may have touched off a major fund drive for the school. Everyone on our tour was very generous, and the TD ended up purchasing and dispatching a truckload of supplies back to the school. It was a fun deal. I think we got ‘turned in’ by the TD.

Re: Morocco tour
On my Morocco tour with another company I spent three nights in Essaouira, and it was magical!
Re: Trip Report Aegean Voyage, Istanbul to Athens, April 2025
Attire: Good walking shoes are a must. This is a very active tour. Much of the sightseeing involves walking up and down hills,, uneven steps, cobblestones, no railings.
We went in April. Istanbul was cool and windy. We brought layers - fleece and a good rain jacket with a hood. I a!so brought and used light gloves and a buff. The weather became warmer as we went South, and I was wearing shorts at times. I also had and used a sun hat with chin strap.
At the mosques, modest attire required, including a scarf for women. And, you have to remove your shoes.
Sport coats not required. Some men had them. I brought a casual dress, my trusty black pants and white jeans and a few nice shirts for my "dressy" clothes.
Electricity. Used European adapter at both hotels. The ship has US outlets.
The Athens hotel did not provide a washcloth. I had one with me.
Re: Recent K&T Classic travelers: please advise re duffel
Sorry also. I never tire of offering this advice. We have done K&T four times. You need very little clothing for his tour. Use the duffels as your primary luggage. Share each piece with your partner. Take one as a carry on, and use a roll aboard as a cart. Check the other one with your liquids. If you don’t stuff the duffel it meets carry on requirements. Two Tauck duffels plus a roll aboard are more than enough space for your stuff … plus two back packs that also go aboard with you. If you bring more than that, you will not use it.

Re: Visa Application for Tanzania
My Tanzania E-visa just got approved after waiting over 3 weeks. I left 2 messages at the embassy in Washington DC. That might have helped. 202-939-6125
Re: Classic Italy Sep 4 2025
I'd look for tours that allow cancellation within 24 hours. Once on tour you should have enough warning to cancel if needed. Viator has several. Since Viator is a tour aggregator providing tours from multiple companies, double check the cancellation policy on each one as it can differ along with where they meet you/pick you up.
