Re: Welcome to Tauck’s Canada Capital Cities Travel Forum
Thank you that is helpful. Does anyone wear Jeans to dinner on this trip?? Deciding if I should pack. lol they are heavy and take up space.
Re: Duffle Bag
You can see from one of Alan’s photos that people are just carrying small bags onto the plane. This tour is what I consider an adventure tour and that’s how we dress for it. It’s liberating in regards to packing. Not even any makeup!

Daytime attire is casual for both men and women. Most people do dress-up for dinner. For men, it's dress slacks and a dress shirt. Lots of men do add a sport coat. For women, it's dress slacks/skirts and a nice top or a dress/jumpsuit. I pack dinner clothes that are silky and wrinkle resistant. My rule of thumb is I pack what I would wear to a restaurant with tablecloths/crystal and well-dressed servers in the city. Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable if the servers were better dressed than me. Keep in mind, the dinner clothes are only worn for a couple of hours, so they can easily be worn again.

Hi April! My husband and I along with two other couples are on this sailing and arriving a day early. One couple is staying at the Tauck hotel.
From what I have read, guests do dress up for dinner, however although sports coats for men is mentioned, it’s not required and a suggestion. You will see some guests dressed more formal than others.
I look forward to meeting you!
Re: Colors for clothing on a Safari
There were lots of tsetse flies when we were there in July. One bit my son right through a thickish pair of beige pants and drew blood….and after we had just been talking about sleeping sickness 😞.
Our grandsons were in another vehicle and spent the afternoon gleefully swatting them and reported they killed 20. That time it was more exciting for them than looking for animals apparently 🤪

Re: Ultimate alps and Dolomites experience
We did this tour in Oct 22 (when it was part of the Passion Play) and it goes down as one of our favorite Tauck Tours since 2003.
I don't recall a lot of free time. It is pretty packed with very good activities and coach time. We LOVED the Salt Mine near Salzburg. There is a lot of Motor Coach time, but the scenery and stops along the way are fantastic. We did extend on each end and in Munich, it was the beginning of Oktoberfest so there was a lot going on around Marienplatz as far as parades, etc. It was not our first time in Munich -- we have been to Dachau Concentration Camp before - but if you've never been, I do think it is very worthwhile. We have a great guide if you need one.
We also extended in Lucerne which is one of our favorite European towns -- it is stunning and very walkable. Sorry I don't have more tips for you - as I said, we didn't have much free time, but you will love this trip.
Seems we did have some down time in Salzburg - we have been there a few times before. There is a concert in the cathedral at noon daily which is excellent. And taking the Funicular up to the Fortress gives you amazing views of Salzburg.
