Re: On-trip airline luggage restrictions?
Since we took the tour about 2009, I think luggage stuff has changed. People here don’t seem to care about the restrictions but I would say, take too big a bag at your own risk because there could be consequences. The planes are small, no room for big bags and fuel measurements are based on what should be the weight of each person’s luggage,
This Africa tour does not require lots of fancy clothing, especially on the safari portion. Even in Cape Town it’s casual Even the lovey Cape Grace hotel, an all time favorite for us for service, will treat everyone the same, however you are dressed. The key thing is you are going in winter so it can be really cold in the early mornings on safari, so bring layers, some may even need gloves. The vehicles generally provide blankets. Cape Town weather is very changeable, you can encounter wind rain or fog as well as sunshine, so again be prepared. Cape Town is one of my favorite destinations.

Re: Input on food re: A Week in Spain
I hope you enjoy some of them. I am sorry you had some bad experiences in Portugal. Some of the best regional cuisine I have had was there, especially the fish and seafood. And blood sausage! Just a little bit since it is so rich.
Again, best wishes.

You will not have much time in the Gare Lyon Paris station to grab food or go to the restroom

Re: French Escapade 08/22/2025
When we did the savoring France The time was 130. Looking at the TGV schedule the best guess options are the 1252 or the 1353 train. More likely the later. We have never gotten to the ship before 4 pm.If you can’t get a definitive answer my guess is hotel bus pickup will be 1200 at the earliest and more likely 1230 or 1300. If you need to kill time, a quick stroll through the Lafayette shopping area is close by. You will need to collect anything you left with the bellman and be ready to go.

Tauck will aim to get you to the ship about 3pm. The high speed train takes about 2 hours. The TDs will get you to the station in plenty of time so I'd estimate needing to be back at the Tauck tour hotel by noon minimum for the drive to the station. Possibly earlier. You can call Tauck and the agent will have a schedule for major evolutions like that.
Re: Teenage clothing in France
I know this will open up a can of worms but it’s still a little surprising to me how revealing some female teenagers dress that they think is appropriate or acceptable. Being sensibly clothed in an appealing manner is more attractive than barely dressed.
Re: First Timer Question - Dept of Health or Travel Clinic for Yellow Fever Vaccine?
I’m over 65 - got the YF vaccine, no issue. My doctor did recommend it as well as the Typhoid vaccine, of course.

Re: Three to a Cabin??
The best is to all get Cat 1 cabins so each has their own cabin, bathroom and no Single Supplement. The Cat 7 suites can be set up with 2 twin beds and they have a small pullout sofa. Fyi, all cabins can have twin beds or a queen bed.
