Re: We are back from our RENDEZVOUS ON THE SEINE RiverCruise
Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback/suggestions for this tour. We are going in September - our son and daughter-in-law will be joining us for their first Tauck tour. This will be our first time in Paris and we are excited!

Re: We are back from our RENDEZVOUS ON THE SEINE RiverCruise
Kathrine - in Paris Tauck usually docks at Quai Grenelle which is on the left bank about a mile down river from the Eiffel Tower. As to timing, if for some reason you need the info before leaving the US, you can call Tauck and the agents have the info. They don't share it ahead of time because lots of things can cause changes.
We've always loved the food and wine on Tauck's river cruises. What I love is that for lunch and dinner they include local specialties. Our first couple of cruises the food was good but they didn't include this regional focus. If you found a bottle of wine during your excursions, the wait staff will serve it for you. No corkage fee. We've never felt the need. Dinner every night on board the wines are specifically chosen by the sommelier to go with what the chef is serving.
Enjoy.

Take the tram to the top in Dubrovnik and you could have this to look forward to. 😄

My wife and I will also be on this cruise!
Re: Paris, Dordogne & Bordeaux
I didn’t mean to say the Sofitel was bad but it wasn’t as nice as all of the others. I can’t comment on the food since we only ate the breakfast there which was fine
Excursions:
In Lyon the trip up to the hill to the Basilica was good, beautiful views although I didn’t enjoy the funicular ride up.
The silk museum was very interesting
The Dordogne region had some incredible sites every where you looked
We enjoyed the visit to the Beynac castle, the Eyrignac gardens and the Lascaux IV cave replica
In Bordeaux we did a nice walking tour and two winery visits the Chateau Kerwin being the best.
On our own time in Bordeaux we went to the Bassins des Lumieres which we really enjoyed
We had excellent local tour guides throughout the trip

Thank you terrilynn, and also kfnknfzk, MCD, and Claudia Sails, for your advice and for answering my question re breakfast at the hotel. I so appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge via this forum. Ever since last year when I booked my first Tauck tour, I have enjoyed reading and learning from the many posts all of you submit. It's a great service to fellow Tauck travelers and I am very grateful.
Re: Canadian Capitals and Niagara Falls 2025
Have a great time. It is one of our favorite tours. The Fairmont properties are destinations themselves. Please consider posting a critique afterwards.

Re: Extra day at Dromoland Castle
Hi LaConna, I am very excited for this trip and hope we can sleep a little on the plane since we arrive at 5:30 am Ireland time. We’ll get to meet at the welcome dinner, if not before. I have been looking at the forecast and it looks perfect so far. We’ll be prepared for whatever Mother Nature gives us, but it sure would be nice to have sunshine.
