Take the tram to the top in Dubrovnik and you could have this to look forward to. 😄

Re: Venice & Dalmation Coast September 17, 2025 on the L'Austral...
My wife and I will also be on this cruise!
Re: Paris, Dordogne & Bordeaux
I didn’t mean to say the Sofitel was bad but it wasn’t as nice as all of the others. I can’t comment on the food since we only ate the breakfast there which was fine
Excursions:
In Lyon the trip up to the hill to the Basilica was good, beautiful views although I didn’t enjoy the funicular ride up.
The silk museum was very interesting
The Dordogne region had some incredible sites every where you looked
We enjoyed the visit to the Beynac castle, the Eyrignac gardens and the Lascaux IV cave replica
In Bordeaux we did a nice walking tour and two winery visits the Chateau Kerwin being the best.
On our own time in Bordeaux we went to the Bassins des Lumieres which we really enjoyed
We had excellent local tour guides throughout the trip
Re: We are back from our RENDEZVOUS ON THE SEINE RiverCruise
Thank you terrilynn, and also kfnknfzk, MCD, and Claudia Sails, for your advice and for answering my question re breakfast at the hotel. I so appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge via this forum. Ever since last year when I booked my first Tauck tour, I have enjoyed reading and learning from the many posts all of you submit. It's a great service to fellow Tauck travelers and I am very grateful.
Re: Canadian Capitals and Niagara Falls 2025
Have a great time. It is one of our favorite tours. The Fairmont properties are destinations themselves. Please consider posting a critique afterwards.

Re: Extra day at Dromoland Castle
Hi LaConna, I am very excited for this trip and hope we can sleep a little on the plane since we arrive at 5:30 am Ireland time. We’ll get to meet at the welcome dinner, if not before. I have been looking at the forecast and it looks perfect so far. We’ll be prepared for whatever Mother Nature gives us, but it sure would be nice to have sunshine.

Re: How the travel advisory system works
Download the Smart Traveler (STEP) app on your mobil device and it will provide travel advisories for all countries, Its a free app and is an official website of the US government. It provides consular information as well. Its essential if you plan a lot of international trips.
Re: Allergies
We did the Xmas market cruise on the Danube in 2024 and our daughter is allergic to down feathers among other things. She did not have any trouble with the bedding, I should add she is taking allergy meds on a daily basis (i.e. Zyrtec etc.). I am sure if you contact Tauck prior to the cruise they can make necessary accommodations. As far as food allergies go, the chef and manager met with everyone who had them on an individual basis the first evening of the cruise to discuss food allergies and make sure there were no issues.

Re: Danube River Christmas Market Cruise with Broken Foot
I haven’t been on the forum in a while but I wanted to report back that our daughter joined us on the Christmas Market river cruise with a broken foot and did extremely well. She wore a hard boot type cast (removable) and got around very easily without crutches, knee scooter, or wheel-chair. Thankfully, she is young (24 yo) and in great shape and was able to keep up on the tours. As it turns out, she was not the youngest on our cruise as there was a lovely young girl who I believe was around 11 yo and traveling with her mother and grandmother. Definitely a trip to remember and so glad we decided to go thru with our original plans.

Re: We are back from our RENDEZVOUS ON THE SEINE RiverCruise
Thank you, terrilyn, for the informative review. We will be doing this tour in September then back-to back with Savoring France... We have two nights to start at the Lutetia, which coincidentally we stayed there on a vacation with our kids about 30 years ago. Go figure! We will probably do Notre Dame and walk around Ile Saint-Louis on our own before the tour starts. BTW, there is an interesting detailed review of Ile Saint-Louis in the Wall Street Journal (subscription required) on Feb 28, 2025. Search for Ile Saint-Louis.
