Re: Thoughts about this adventure
Yes Stellie, it is now in your blood! We fly Qatar these days. Emirates does not fly from Philly. At one time, the only airline that flew to JRO was Delta;KLM. I think Turkish flies there too.
The good thing about the Tanzania Zanzibar tour is you avoid Nairobi in Kenya.
I was saying to our TD in Tanzania in July, that for us, Tanzania is Africa’s little Secret…and he agreed. It’s just that Kenya was better at publicity when safaris became the in thing. Tanzania has the Serengeti!

Re: Travelon Anti-Theft Backpack
I love Scotevests and have a black one and a beige one. I am tall and the men’s medium works best for me. The women’s version is just a little short for me. The inside pockets are terrific for travel. Many times I have no handbag at all. Ultimate freedom and security. Not cheap but they wash very well and look good. They do have sales and might have one for Labor Day. Worth the price any way.
Re: Questions from travelers on Classic Safari - K&T
Don’t be concerned about Mpox. It is most common in under 15 year olds and gay and bisexual men at this point. T
One good thing for you is that it may make some people scheduled on the tour cancel and you will get a small group. This is what happened with the Ebola outbreak around 2014 and our group was not full when many people canceled that year. Not good for Tauck of course. Even though the Ebola outbreak was thousands of miles away from K and T.
There were lots of Tsetse flies in the Serengeti when we were there in July and they do love black and dark blue.
We used dollars everywhere, you may occasionally get change in local currency.

Re: Thoughts about this adventure
Stellie, I loved being Tanzania the last two weeks of August. I have never seen more lions on any of the other four safaris I have been fortunate to take. 🦁🦁🦁🦁
Re: Thoughts about this adventure
We were in Tanzania in July, the Bridges tour. we enjoy that time of year and there is a chance you will see the migration. We took Tanzania Zanzibar ten years ago at the same time. Having taken K and T twice, I think the Tanzania Z. tour is great value and I prefer the area over the K and T tour.

Re: Thoughts on Namibia Adventure
MS78 I am so glad you loved Namibia as much as we did. Sleeping under the stars at Kwessi Dunes was, indeed, a very spiritual experience. Even better, in my opinion, than the night under the stars in the Kalahari. Both magical.
Re: Thoughts on Namibia Adventure
We spent 24 glories days in Namibia last November, our second visit. Several people in our group ‘skied’
down the dunes. I don’t have a good photo but you get the idea. Too many snakes and scorpions in the sand for me to go barefoot!

Re: Anybody else booked on Wildlife Odyssey: South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe 7/11-7/22/24?
British, Why are you having such a hard time with the TD suggesting an electronic payment for their tip? It was a great idea, so we didn't have to carry so much cash around with us on the trip and neither would they after the trip. Out of our five Tauck trips since 2018, she is the first to suggest an electronic payment, but she was not the first to send us an email before the trip.
