Re: French Escapade 08/22/2025
Tauck will aim to get you to the ship about 3pm. The high speed train takes about 2 hours. The TDs will get you to the station in plenty of time so I'd estimate needing to be back at the Tauck tour hotel by noon minimum for the drive to the station. Possibly earlier. You can call Tauck and the agent will have a schedule for major evolutions like that.
Re: Teenage clothing in France
I know this will open up a can of worms but it’s still a little surprising to me how revealing some female teenagers dress that they think is appropriate or acceptable. Being sensibly clothed in an appealing manner is more attractive than barely dressed.
Re: First Timer Question - Dept of Health or Travel Clinic for Yellow Fever Vaccine?
I’m over 65 - got the YF vaccine, no issue. My doctor did recommend it as well as the Typhoid vaccine, of course.

Re: Three to a Cabin??
The best is to all get Cat 1 cabins so each has their own cabin, bathroom and no Single Supplement. The Cat 7 suites can be set up with 2 twin beds and they have a small pullout sofa. Fyi, all cabins can have twin beds or a queen bed.

Re: Seeing Versailles
The museum in Paris that seldom gets mentioned is the Marmottan. It was once a hunting lodge but it has the largest collection of Monet anywhere. It’s a bit out of the way, so we found it to be not over run with tourists. I am easily ‘museumed-out’ but I liked the Marmottan a lot.

Re: Complementary Hotel Tickets to Versailles
We did not contact the concierge ahead of time. We spoke to him upon arrival the day prior to tour start and the next morning he made the arrangements at no cost to us. Others here on the site did purchase their own tickets ahead of time to be sure they'd get them.
Re: Complementary Hotel Tickets to Versailles
To get our tickets, we just went to concierge when we arrived at the hotel (we arrived two days before start of the tour). When we asked about Versailles tickets for Tauck guests, he immediately gave us two, then made a quick mark on his notes.
I suspect that concierge always has a supply of these tickets on hand, keeps track of how many go to Tauck guests, and the hotel is later reimbursed for these by Tauck.
We had already purchased Versailles admission tickets on our own because we specifically wanted a 9am timed entry for the Palace visit. So we used the concierge-supplied tickets for a second day of exploring other areas of the Estate on our tour Day 1.

Re: Teenage clothing in France
We were just there last month on a Seine River cruise with days in Paris both Pre & Post. They dressed just like us. Go with what's comfy. Read your Tauck paperwork for CompassRose guidelines and if there is a special dinner off the boat. The whole cruise itself was very casual - we loved it. No shorts in the dining room, but still casual. Most of us wore to dinner what we had on all day. Some changed shoes of course. There was a 1920's themed party one night per your paperwork - accessories mostly from Amazon.
