Re: A Sicilian Odyssey 2025 Flights to Sicily
We stayed in Rome 2 nights before heading to Sicily. A nice way to break up the flights and I love Rome. This is a wonderful tour, one of our favourites.
Re: What to do in Chico
A2couple: it looks like we are on the same tour, starting the 17th. Scott & Judy (Reston, VA) and our friend Jo (Salt Lake City). We'll be at Chico a day early (GOT) and enjoying the hot spring.
This'll be our 4th time to Yellowstone in winter (last 3 with Tauck) which gives you a notion about how we feel about this tour.
See you in a couple of weeks!

Re: Blue Danube
We are booked on the Bue Danube cruise on the Savoy beginning May 29, 2025. Looking for "local" restaurants for dinner/lunch and walking tours in Prague as we will be there a day before the tour begins. Any other advice on the Tauck excursions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Re: Blue Danube
We are going on The Blue Danube westbound on MS Joy on May 25, 2025. This is our first river cruise, but we are certainly not strangers to cruising on commercial lines. We are having dinner in the Imperial Castle in Vienna, and dinner at the Lobkowidz Palace at Prague Castle. Wondering about attire? Also, looking for excursion suggestions in Budapest, Vienna and Prague which are not included in the tour. Thank you for your suggestions!
Re: Side trips Athens- before May trip for Treasures of Aegean
You don't actually see much in Athens so can go just about anywhere except for the Acropolis/Parthenon, new Acropolis Museum, and the National Museum which you do visit. Try a guided tour of the Plaka/Agora, etc. For a full day trip- you can hire a guide to take you to Delphi.

Re: Trains in Japan
No need to buy tix in advance. For the Tokyo Metro, kiosks (or agents) available. Kiosks offer English.
Re: Cuba 2025 Trip Thoughts - Part 1
Kim asked me to add yet one more item. Obviously bring whatever medicines you need for your health...prescriptions etc., but we also brought pepto bismol, various OTC meds, etc in case one of us got sick as that stuff is not available at all in Cuba.
Re: Cuba 2025 Trip Thoughts - Part 1
Thrilled to get this detailed report. Maybe I DON't need to buy a converter and bring an extension cord. I am concerned that I haven't had vaccination for Hepatitis A transmitted through food and water. What's everybody's take on this? I leave on the March 8 trip. Since I'm 84 I should probably get at least the first shot. Or just be super super careful about what I eat and drink?
Re: A Week In Portugal
The bookstore to which kfnknfzk was referring is Livraria Lello. If you want to go, get your ticket on line in advance. I did that and saved a wait of well over an hour to get into the store; I just walked right in. At the time (a few years ago) the ticket cost 5 euros and, if you made a purchase, the 5 euros would be deducted from the cost of the item. I happened to be there on a weekend morning, and found it too crowded to really appreciate its beauty.
