Re: England, & The West Country
Please do report back. It is a lovely part of the country, i have not been to Cornwall and Devon for over forty years, but Bath maybe twenty years ago, I love it there. I’m even contemplating booking the tour in the next couple of years. It’s new, so I assume they are still ironing out the kinks which can happen on new tours. Being on a bus in the UK, you pass the most beautiful countryside so I would have no problem on a longer ride. Yes, you need to get fit.

Re: Advertising
MCD - I believe that is how they lure in their clients. It took me almost a year to get them to stop mailing me their flimsy pamphlets. The good thing about travel these days is that there is something for every budget...and political persuasion it appears! I'll stay with what I have always been pleased with—Tauck.

Re: Advertising
I will never take a Viking cruise based on their advertising. They seem to think that a British accent makes you more intelligent or sophisticated (sorry, British -- of course you are intelligent and sophisticated!), and when I get their brochures with all of their prices slashed with a red line and saying half off, my reaction is "Do they think I'm stupid?"
Re: Advertising
wildcat - Ratings are irrelevant if it's not the target market. How many Rolls Rotce EVs do you think would sell via Fox News ads?
Re: Advertising
We always fast forward over the Viking ads. I don’t like their buy now, get it half price tactics etc etc

Re: Advertising
😂😂😂. BKMD … if you don’t think that post was ‘political’, you need to learn how to read your own lips. Once again … put it to bed. We talk about travel here, and the ‘majority’ couldn’t care less about your political perspective.

Re: Cat 6 Cabin question
Sorry I don't believe there is. We've been in the Cat 6 cabin several times on Tauck's shorter ships like the Emerald, Sapphire which have a 3 drawer dresser on that wall and electric outlets. For some reason on the longer ships like the Inspire, Joy, etc they didn't include those. There are lots of outlets including some in a small niche just outside the bathroom where you could set something small like a smartphone on the shallow shelf.
The MS Joy was featured at a big river cruise convention in Europe last spring and there are several videos on youtube that show the various cabins. The link below has one of the better ones showing the Cat 6 cabin. If you'd rather trust your own search/link it was done by Sarah McClure Apr 17, 2024. Or just search for MS Joy and you'll find even more videos posted within the past year.
Re: Cat 6 Cabin question
Although I can't answer your question specific to your cabin category, I can say that I have never had an issue with inadequate amounts of outlets on Tauck's riverboats. I travel, however, with only two items that need charging. Hope this helps.

Re: Advertising
It is always fun to see the people in Portugal who are pictured in the ad after seeing them in person on the Douro River cruise I took. One woman loved balancing a beer bottle on her head.
Re: Morocco tour
Morocco - 9-18 Feb review: Mark Van Houten TD. Our 10th Tauck tour and clearly one of top 3. TD was great - very informative and accommodating. Best tour in terms of culinary, cultural and historical aspects. February is definitely the best time to visit. Loved the multiple side trip options. Local guides were fantastic. Lots of walking on uneven surfaces (cobblestones and many steps of varying heights). Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes a must. Accommodations outstanding. Ranking of cities visited: 1- Marrakesh; 2- Fes; 3- Meknes; 4- Casablanca; 5- Rabat. Trip favorites: Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca; dinner in Berber tent in desert; culinary school in Marrakesh; and Medina in Marrakesh. Only disappointment- not getting to Tangier. Is we were to do this again, we’d go on our own either before or after the tour. Highly recommend this tour. Sensory overload!
