Re: Layover in Amsterdam
It's a large airport so you could have a long walk. If you feel comfortable with possibly a long airport walk then you should be fine.
Re: Layover in Amsterdam
We transfer in AMS often - it is huge, but we find it more organized & efficient than CDG & other options, so we typically look for flights that do transfer in AMS. We usually have about 2 hrs or a little less, so I think 2hrs & 45min will be ample time for you.
Re: Grand Australia and New Zealand-March 17 - side trips? Penguins, Blue Mountains
We were lucky enough to see the Blue Mountains with friends who live there. Spectacular scenery, more beautiful than many places we saw on the Tauck trip. The mountains really are blue due to the eucalyptus trees. They took us to places where a tour bus couldn’t go, paths that led to small overlooks. I wouldn’t suggest taking a large group tour, the area around there is nothing special and it’s a long drive from Sydney (~1.5 hours). But if you could find a private tour with someone who really knows the area, perhaps Tours by Locals, it’s worth the trip.
Yes, this tour is exhausting but also exhilarating. Fit in as much as you can, you may never go back. We went a couple of days early to adjust to the time change, then went back to Sydney at the end for a couple of days. We did the Great Ocean Road with Acadia Tours the day before the Tauck tour began, then the Penguins on Philip Island after the walking tour of Melbourne. Both were fantastic.
Best trip we ever took.

Re: Yet another Tauck Freebie
Wow congrats to all the folks getting the goodies for the travel. Loyalty to one company should be commended. I love to travel but don't think that 20-25 target is within my reach mainly because I like to mix it up. I plan a lot of trips on my own because I like to target the journey to my specific interests. Tauck is my go to for special, exotic spots I wouldn't choose to visit on my own, mainly because they do it so well. The people with 40 or 50 journeys are my heroes. Love that you keep going!! Travel is glorious!

Re: Feedback about the 8 day tour of Provence
Marilyn - my husband and I took this tour 10 plus years ago. While the hotels have changed, many of the activities appear to be the same. We enjoyed the beauty of the area, especially hiking, delving into Cezanne and van Gogh, great food and wine.
Re: Cinque Terre, Tuscany and Portofino in 2025
The info on the four age does not mention the tour of the Uffizi gallery being after hours. Looks as if it follows the church visit. You have to find your own dinner, so I suspect you have the afternoon free. I think calling Tauck would be best to get a clearer answer.

Re: Cinque Terre, Tuscany and Portofino in 2025
Florence is one of my favorite cities. If you have free time immediately after the guided tour, whether after hours or not, I highly recommend remaining at the Uffizi.

Re: Restaurant Recommendations
We loved Ristorante Buca Mario in Florence. Our tour guide gave us great recommendations. Loved that tour! One of our favorites.
Re: Inter-Island Flights
We did this tour just before everything shut down for COVID. I thought it was one of the best tours we've done. I had been to Hawaii on business (mostly conferences) but you don't see much of the area when you're on business. Most of the hotels were exceptional. The first - the Pink Palace (Royal Hawaiian) - was probably the lesser of the group.
