Help with extra tour options in Rome

Our Classic Italy tour this September does not include an inside tour of the colosseum, very disappointing for me. From your experience, please help with recommendations on what tour package to book for the colosseum (definitely want to include lower level) and whether we should include other locations (Palatine, Forum, etc). I've looked online and read the tour descriptions but I've also read some reviews that certain sites, although interesting, don't have much to experience. Available time to "see it all" is limited. Thanks!

LoriSturm, we loved Context Tours because they are led by academics.

We did several tours with LIV Tours. Love them, small groups, great colosseum early tour. Followed that with Domus Area on our own. Well worth it and short walk from colosseum.

My daughter and daughter in law both sponsored students for a year at the school we visited. I took soccer balls and a pump. My husband and I prioritize donating to FAME hospital each year near Karatu, we have visited twice. Last year when we visited we could not believe the expansion in services. It’s rewarding to see.

If I were you, I would stay an extra night at Omaanda and let them arrange a game drive for you. It is a stunning resort.

Hi Mary. I cannot comment on the Belmond. We heard it was a bit of a hassle getting into the Brazil side from the airport , which is on the Argentina side. We were happy we were at the Melia because the hotel is actually in the park. It is a beautiful hotel.Two nights there is definitely enough. We actually only spent one night : we took an early plane to get there and a late plane back to Buenos Aires the next evening. Yes , we did spend an extra night back in Buenos Aires at the Sofitel after Iguazu. It worked out well because they held our luggage while we were in Iguazu. Our planes back to the US were in the evening so we had another day to explore Buenos Aires. If you have specific questions , you can certainly PM me.
