Re: Waterproof shoes?
I always take shoes that could cope in a rainstorm and an extra pair as backup, which might be something like a closed toe Teva and something for the evening. Most trips I just take three pairs of shoes and flip flops if I’’m going to a pool. I’m not a sneakers person on trips to Europe, they are too casual for me and maybe scream American.

Re: 1920’s Night
I for one, like shipboard activities. Last fall we took the Rhine/Octoberfest River cruise. Between the crews' entertainment nights and the passengers' entertainment nights it was an absolute highlight of the trip. It really doesn't require a lot of imagination or suitcase room to participate. I think it's more an issue of some people simply don't enjoy "forced fun". And that's why Tauck only "suggests/encourages" people to pack for a theme. Different strokes for different folks.
Re: Considering Pavlus to book our next trip...any thoughts?
Way in the past when I used a travel agent for booking a Tauck tour all communications with Tauck had to go through the travel agent. The required middle man was why I haven't used a travel agent in over a decade.
Re: How to dress for dinner
My wife and I were on this tour in 2023. It’s not overly dressy. I wore a sport coat a couple times, opening reception and one dinner in a fancy hotel restaurant. Most time for me, khakis or nice jeans and a polo shirt, My wife wore some nicer slacks and tops on a few occasions, but other wise nice jeans and a top. She accessorizes quite a bit with scarfs or a jacket to “dress up” her look. We did not go out looking for a nice or special restaurant on an off night. Switzerland is super expensive so we usually ate in the hotel restaurant or a more casual place.
Re: 1920’s Night
I would not take this 1920’s theme seriously for a nano second. For all you know, Tauck may supply the accessories for a 1920’s theme extravaganza! I also would not allocate extra room in my suitcase for a few items for a few hours.
Re: 1920’s Night
I will be doing a river cruise this fall. This sounds like a good night for Arthur's to me.
Re: ETA Questions
Mike and MCD, you think the way we do. It's worth a few dollars to have, and is good for 2 years, so heck, sign up for another trip, too. And in case there's a mess up you are covered.
Re: Hotel Choices for Treasures of the Mediterranean Isles Tour/Cruise
Mike - Are you free to pick either hotel in each city?
For our Rome, Sicily, Malta trip the hotels were tied together, meaning if you picked A in Rome, then you got B in Malta and the opposite if you picked B in Rome, then you got A in Malta. I was just wondering if for this trip they are independent selections.
