Re: Welcome dinner location
Bucketlist, your information is greatly appreciated!
We are staying at the Norge and I was hoping to swim there, but maybe not. We were on Le Bellot last year on a different tour and the pool was only about two thirds filled, we had one swim, but it didn’t even look that clean. It was disappointing as I’ve swam in the Ponant ships pools before and it has been very pleasant especially on the Iceland tour where there was so much time on the ship.
We are staying two extra nights in Oslo . When we saw that two museums were visited before lunch, we were concerned they would be rushed. My husband particularly wanted to be sure he saw the Kontiki museum in detail, he tells me he made a scale model of the famous raft when he was a child, yep, just like him! So we thought we might want to make a return visit later.
Looks like rain in Bergen while we are there. Thank you again.

Re: Crown Jewel -Switzerland tour
We did not have any effects from the elevation. We're older than you.
If you want a preview of the tour, go to https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2023-2Switzerland-01.htm
Re: England, & The West Country
Questions:
- Was the bus filled? Any room to spread out? Did Tauck still use the assigned seat policy? Did any one fight for seats? Were there adapters or outlets on the bus for charging?
- How is the eden Project? Did a lot of people go back to Fowey in the afternoon? Are there things to do in Fowery?
- Is the Bovey castle a rest day? Are there things to do outside of the castle?
- How is the last day in Windsor? Did Tauck go inside Windsor Castle? How much time they spent at Stonehnenge? Is the drive from Bovey Castle to Windsor long? Is it worthwile?
- Are hiking boots absolutely necessdary for St Michale's mount?
Thanks in advance for your reply. Cheers!
Re: Hat for Sun exposure
I purchased mine on Groupon and then people asked where I purchased it. Foldable and packable and comes in various colors. Amazon has them too. Cheap as can be.
Re: Hat for Sun exposure
My husband got the Orvis Tech hat at Costco. Not sure what it costs in the store right now, but online it's $12 on sale.
My favorite travel hat is the Wallaroo Sydney sun hat that's packable. You just roll it up. Only thing I don't like is their hats don't seem to have wind straps.
Re: Hat for Sun exposure
Got mine at Costco for under $20. Nice khaki broad brim bucket hat. Have a Tilley but felt it was too structured for Safari. I wanted something I could cram in my backpack if need be.
Re: Hat for Sun exposure
I love this and have 2 colors. Also available at REI. It's foldable and has slots for sunglasses.

Re: Hat for Sun exposure
After many trips to Africa, we finally caved and got Tilley hats last year. We got ours at REI. Beware they come in different sizes. You are talking around $100 each.

Re: Local Currency?
Small denomination, newer U.S. dollars are all you need. You will find you will spend around $150,000 TZ shillings for dinner or around $60 U.S.. No way would I want to exchange for those currencies. charge what you can at the hotels.
