Re: Michigan's Lakes and Mackinac Island
This morning, we all looked forward to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, just a couple of minutes in the bus from the ship. Tauck could enter a full hour before opening time. I had a go on the drums and guitar in the Garage Band area which was a lot of fun. I’ve decided I could make a good drummer! My favorite area was of course the Beatles.

Re: What shoes to pack?
Most all the included dinners are in your hotel so little or no outside walking. The only exceptions I see are Oxford and Bath. Like MCD on most tours I wear nice flats.
Re: Danube River Christmas Market Cruise with Broken Foot
Maresc,
I went on a Danube river cruise last October. i think your daughter will likely have a difficult time. To access the boat, you need to walk up an inclined narrow gangplank. The rope railing will offer minimal support. Further once off the boat, there are often 1 or 2 flights of steps (with a fixed railing) to get to ground level. She will also need to climb the steps to get onto the bus. Sometimes the boat stacks so you may need to climb multiple steps on another boat to get to the dock. And then the touring itself will involve much walking and standing … often there are steps involved. I don’t want to be a Negative Nancy, but I want to give my thoughts.

I lived in England and Scotland until the age of 43 and rarely encountered cobbled streets,

Re: River Cruise - Travel Steamers?
I never pack clothing that requires ironing out of a suitcase, I roll everything including wrinkle free linen shirts. If I wanted to iron, my husband would have a fit on a vacation. Please consider different clothing, there are plenty of suitable pieces out there, both casual and formal.
