France during Tour de France
It looks like the tour de France will be in the Normandy area during our tour in July, how disruptive is it? We will be going to Mont st Michel then.

Tauck will have work-around plans if need be due to possible road closures and/or traffic. I would not be concerned.
Looks like the tour will be in Normandy for several stages, July 8-11. You can view the route map here, if you haven't already:

Hope this helps.
Check the dates you will be in Bayeux and St Malo. It looks like Tour de France will be in those areas on the 10th and 11th with a time trial in Caen on the 9th. There is a Tauck tour that begins on July 4 and not another until late August. The July 4 tour would be in Dinard on July 7 and 8 with the trip to Mont Saint Michel and a stop in St Malo on July 8. You'll be in Bayeux with a visit to the museum in Caen on July 9 staying in Deauville that evening. You probably will be through most areas before the race arrives. However there will likely be some setting up and more people. To me the one possible conflict would be the time trial in Caen. It could go by the museum.
We just came back from this trip and St Malo is prepping. They have small pennants with the four jersey designations strung across the street in the inside the walls portion of the city. I also assume that the race will not begin inside the walls. It's too crowded for a stage kick off. If people come early, it may be more crowded but still accessible..
I think it would be interesting to be part of this event. It may be once in a lifetime.
We were at the American Cemetery on Memorial Day. Earlier in the day they had had all sorts of commemorations. We were able to see all of the flags on the graves and flowers that were presented by the various towns in Normandy and were thrilled to be there at 4PM when they played taps and took down the American flag!
I agree with prior comments that Tauck will have figured this out.
I am going o be on the Rendezvous on the Seine starting July 26 th. The tour ends in Paris on the 27th. We will be on the river by then, but our Sunday tours could be impacted in the late afternoon.
