I think the company has altered the hotel in Marbella to Hotel El Fuerte from Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá for my trip. Has anybody stayed at these hotels and if so how do they compare.

We stayed at the Gran Meliá with Tauck over a decade ago. It is a beautiful hotel with many different options for dining. On our full free day there we visited the old town, walked along the shoreline and dined outdoors with another couple. The huge seafood salad was one of the best I have ever had.
I am unfamiliar with the other hotel. According to the 2025 published itinerary, it shows the Gran Meliá. Perhaps the hotel change is temporary. Regardless, it is a phenomenal tour. Have a wonderful time.

I'm taking the tour which begins this OCT 15. Tauck moved the hotel due to renovation at Gran Melia. My concern is that they also downgraded the room level.
Perhaps I'm overreacting but when booked I was told the room would be full ocean view but its no longer the case. Would like to hear if my concern is warranted. Outside of Tauck, when I book/pay for an oceanfront room and then told sorry we changed your reservation without price adjustment i consider that inappropriate.
Has anybody stayed at the El Fuerte with Tauck and if so how were the rooms and your overall thoughts of the hotel.
FWIW..Im still looking forward to this trip as this is only a minor issue for me.
We did have views of the Mediterranean. Don’t be dismayed. Tauck will make it up to you if warranted. I’m sure they have selected an equally nice resort.
Paraphrasing from Tauck’s brochure, any change resulting in a cost decrease/saving to Tauck will be reimbursed to you; any cost increase will be absorbed by Tauck.
I think you will be delighted with all the hotels, food, history, architecture (especially Moorish), culture, people, everything!

We are on the October 22 tour and also were notified of the hotel change. Knowing how Tauck takes care of their guests, I’m not at all concerned. Really looking forward to this tour.
