WiFi and tipping on the WIND SURF
How reliable is the internet connectivity onboard the ship from Barcelona to Lisbon? While in our information packet is says tips are included in the bill, do people tip at meals, for drinks, or other services onboard? If eating on you own, is tipping recommended or discouraged? We've heard that in some European cities it is discouraged. Thanks in advance

I was on one of the Wind ships and they were using StarLink. Data rate was good but they blocked iCloud and OneDrive. I hope they corrected that. If they did, you'll have decent Internet service.
They may have blocked other cloud systems - I only encountered problems with iCoud and OneDrive.
Tipping in Spain and Portugal is not required but will be appreciated. For good restaurant service, a 5% gratuity is common; 10% for exceptional service. To ensure your server receives it, tip in €s instead of adding it to a credit card. For bar and taxi services, rounding up to the nearest € is common.
There is a gentleman on this forum who is very knowledgeable about Windstar/Windsurf. I’m sure he will comment regarding what is included onboard.
Wind Surf was renovated last November. We were aboard her last month. Due to our ‘loyalty’ level we don’t pay for WiFi, so I cannot address the cost. Whatever system they are using, it works much better than it did in the past, but they have blocked certain capabilities. We have T-Mobil that includes WiFi calling. That did not work. I think we also had difficulty with phots and videos. I suspect they are trying to keep the data rate down. If you need email, and texting, that works well. We were able to connect anywhere on the ship. That was not the case in the past. As said, I think they are on StarLink.
