Verona - What to see and do?

We have decided to fly into Verona a couple of days before our tour which starts in Venice on September 8th. We are thinking about going to see "Romeo and Juliet". Has anyone done this before? While I would like to see it I am wondering if it will be a long performance while seated on concrete. Any opinions? Any other suggestions? We understand that Verona is a beautiful place to visit.

Verona is a nice place to visit. We were there last year on a Culturious tour. We had a great lunch at the 12 Apostles. The St. Anastasia Church is a surprisingly nice church to visit. Both are about a mile northeast of the Arena, I think!
