Any favorite travel books to recommend?

I so much enjoyed The Lost Vintage by Ann Mah that we booked a Rhone River cruise next year. Book blurb compares it to The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah and Sarah’s Key. If you are traveling to Western Canada the mystery series by Lane Winslow is good. They are sequential so start with the first book. If you’re more into nonfiction Dreaming in French by Alice Kaplan is set in Paris.
Always looking for a good read if you have one to share.

For Iceland, the Inspector Erlendur Series by Arnaldur Indridason is good. The series is crime fiction but the author has the Inspector go to various places in Iceland and describes each place in detail. Also describes what the people there are like. A good insight into Iceland.

I thoroughly enjoyed In A Sunburned Country before I went to Australia and Turn Right At Machu Picchu before Peru.

Do read 'Christ Stopped at Eboli' before going to Matera / A Week in Puglia.
