June 1st tour --going into Venice a day earlier

Hello all. Looking forward to a great trip and meeting great folks. My wife says that I shouldn't say that because it sounds too much like a bad "Saturday Night Live" Character (I must say). Anyway we arrive on Saturday, to rest up, recharge, and do a little pre tour looking around.

    Arriving early also, but only hours, not a whole day, good idea though. Will arrive at hotel noon on the 1st, take in the area around the hotel and grab some lunch. Looking forward to an exciting week, first time in Italy. Very interested in art and the history of the country.

    This is our first time too. Carol is looking forward to everything. I have a passion for still photography both landscapes and people. We are not major "foodies" but everything we have heard about Italy and food sounds marvelous. It should be a great week--looking forward to meeting you.
