Canyonland Tour

After extensive research on deciding which escorted tour company to take,I decided on Tauck. I'm a little nervous because I'll be going solo and not taken an escorted tour solo can be daunting. I'll be going on this tour Aug. 20, 2012. If there are any solo travelers taking this tour on Aug 20th, or any other travelers or people who have taken this tour, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks

Hi Scarlett, Don't be nervous about traveling solo on this trip. I went last August and had a wonderful time. If you look at the Canyonlands forum you will see that I have posted alot of info. We also had singles on our trip. As I said in the forum, it was very hot in Aug. but not a day of rain so we were able to enjoy every part of the rtip. If you have questions that aren't in the forum, I would be happy to answer them. You will have a great time.

Didn't go solo but I can't imagine it would be an issue. There were couples, friends, sisters, etc. traveling and everyone got along. This was my first trip with Tauck and it was great! you will love it....then try Canadian Rockies!

Thanks for the reply. Funny, I was entertaining the thought of going on the Canadian Rockies next year.

Hi Scarlett, On the Canyonlands tour there was a widower who was very nice and very friendly. There was a married woman traveling alone. There were two sisters traveling together and then me. At dinner the tables were usually set up for 6-8 people and the tour director passed a paper around the bus to sign up for a time to eat and we all knew each other so well on the tour we just kind of decided who we were going to dine with. It is fun to eat with different people each night because the people on the tour have such interesting lives. The first night at Grand Canyon I took it upon myself to ask the two sisters and widower to dine with me. We had a wonderful time. From then on it was fun to dine with different people. Don't worry about it. You will just love the tour and the beauty of America. By the time of the farewell dinner you will be sad to say goodbye to the wonderful people you met on the tour.

Hi, Scarlett. I'm a single who went on the California trip in 2009. I had a great time--the people were friendly and always included you in the group. There was one single man travelling with a married couple and a mother and daughter together so no one was on their own llike me, but I found that people would ask me to eat with them or I could just join up with people to either tour during free time or have a meal. It was really a great trip and the people all got along very well with each other.
I'm also travelling in August, but to Yellowstone . I'm a llittle apprehensive to be trying this again but hopefully it'll be fun. We should compare notes after our trips! Enjoy!

    Hi Scarlett,
We've taken several Tauck tours & there have been solo travelers on all of them. It usually takes til about the appetizer course at the welcome dinner & then suddenly everyone clicks-solos, couples, families, youg old-it doeesn't matter, you are all on vacation to a place you all chose to go to & everyone gets along. Nobody stays solo for long. Please don't worry-just relax & have a great time. This is a fantastic tour-1 of our top 2 favorites, you'll love it, the scenery is unbelievable!

Do not worry about traveling solo. I have been on 16 tours, and most of them solo. There are usually other solo travelers, and if not, Tauk travelers are the friendliest people you want to meet, and will welcome your company.
