When traveling in Ireland when I was 21, I bought each of my parents a lovely piece of Waterford Crystal, a large vase for my mother and decanter for my dad. What was I thinking? They were HUGE and LEAD crystal, very heavy. Those pieces were out every holiday of my adult life, and when they both passed away, they were returned to me by my brothers and sisters. I cherish them to this day and always think of my parents when using them. I'm headed back to Ireland with my 21 year old daughter and hope she enjoys it as I did so many years ago.
This year, upon returning from London, I brought back a wedding program from the royal wedding of William and Kate, a tea towel with their initials from the Buckingham Palace giftshop, and a copy of one of the local newspapers the next day with a huge picture and headline about the wedding.
