Re: Classic City Tour of Brussels & Other Options
Pam, there is a certain "science" to reading Tauck itineraries. If it says something like "a city tour" that means basically a drive/walk by not that you are likely to enter any of the buildings. If you're going to get a guided tour of a site it will say something like "a guided visit to the Red Star Line Museum". We're on one of the summer tours to this area and looking at the Hotel Amigo it seems to be in the heart of the pedestrian area very close to the Grand-Place/market square so we will be doing some exploring of that area on our own. Note: I edited this to correct Grand Palace to Grand-Place.
Re: Japan-Essence of Japan
klanskyedlin - You might want to move your post. You've posted in the Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna & Prague, Jewish Heritage area a question about the Japan - Essence of Japan tour. At least I think that's what you've done.
Re: Update on Safety and Security - Jordan & Egypt
We are well into our Egypt part of this journey. All of the sites we’ve visited have security everywhere. In fact, we’ve had to go through security checks just to get into most. In addition, we’ve had our armed security man with us. Tourism is back in Egypt. The sites are busy. We’ve had no reason for concern.
Re: Update on Safety and Security - Jordan & Egypt
We are on the tour as I write this. So far, safety has not been anyone’s concern. There are 26 of us (small group size for the price of a regular trip). It’s been fantastic already!
Re: Excursions
Thank you, everyone, for the feedback. We will be doing the countryside tour, as Ben mentioned, so good to know it's an early start. I may call Tauck as well, but am comfortable with the input here. Have decided not to stress about it - just go and enjoy!
Re: visiting Canada in June 2025
Canadians are pretty nice people and I expect most will direct their annoyance at our government not individual visitors. That said, I wouldn't say anything or wear anything to indicate support for our current president without expecting you might get a negative reaction.
Re: Vaccinations for May
Kfnknfzk, I found the Denmark page but then lost it. The page is not very user friendly but it’s interesting to see another country’s info

Re: Considering Pavlus to book our next trip...any thoughts?
I agree with mfrancis about booking directly with Tauck, but also understand the benefits of using a travel agent if you travel with other companies and modes of transportation. We have been Tauck loyalists for a long time; they have pertinent information on file including our preferred airlines and seats, so booking through them is easy, fast and efficient. Besides, I find it delightful to chat with them. Again, it is very much a personal choice.
