Re: Using the iPhone 15 Pro Max for Travel
I do print my photos, I know - I'm an albatross - but it gives me joy to put together an album and I do heavy editing in my pictures, very rarely of me because I really don't like my picture taken, I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and it takes great pictures and has the availability of removing unwanted people or items form the picture.
Re: Review of JULY 2,2023 trip - a Week in the French Riviera, Provence and Paris
We look at it this way great 360 view of the city including Notre Dame, interesting history and structure (I’m an engineer) so why not? We did our research so got tickets to the top weeks earlier. On the day of the farewell, we went with Tauck to D’Orsay in the morning, separated from the group and walked to Rodin museum (so, so), had the worst Bagel sandwich ever, for lunch, then walked to the Champ de Mars and the tower where we rode to top. Following that we strolled the left bank of the Seine back to our 4 (5?) star Le Maurice (across from the Orangerie not far from Louvre.) The tower interested us and we don’t have to explain to friends why were didn’t see it! It would be like going to Italy and not seeing the Leaning Tower.😎🗼

Re: Tour Director tip
I have never seen anyone tip the local guides in any of my tours, I consider I pay enough for a Tauck trip and if it was required, we would be told.
Re: Packing
BJMKLMAZ Agree with **British **. I was on this tour last year. I also use the B&R International carry-on luggage; however, the duffle bags allow easy uniformed transport of the luggage. There are many moving parts to this tour.
When we arrived, the TD also provided a larger duffle bag - the same size we received for the Portrait of India tour. You are allowed to bring a small carry-on bag that will fit in the over-head airline bin--however, I would caution not to try to use your B&R as it will not fit. The planes are small and the overhead bins are smaller.
The beauty is you can leave the duffle bags at your final destination in Mumbai, or you can use it to carry souvenirs or dirty laundry and ditch it when you get home...1st world problems ![]()
Re: Books to read before Japan Trip
Thank you for the help on books! I finally located it in our log in reservation, and then it is on the left side in the black panel of information and it is under 'before you go'. Seems that is a different place than previous times but anyway, finally found it!! Thank you!
Re: US passports can now be renewed online!
JeffandKim - things have def changed. We renewed ours online in November and it took less than 2 weeks.
Re: Cuba 2025 Trip Thoughts - Part 1
Thanks very much, Jeff. The information you provided was invaluable to my family and I who will be on this trip in April. Thank you, again.
Re: Layover in Amsterdam
Update- you may remember the kidney stone saga that eventually resulted in the loss of my right kidney last year, well. . . Since Friday I’ve been back in at least two hospitals getting ready to donate a gall stone and my gallbladder to biowaste. I had bad stomach pains almost two weeks ago then again last Friday. Initially, they couldn’t figure out why- stone hid from CT and ER docs were too busy dealing with mobbed ER. Luckily they did a last minute MRI which found that little Pearl. Two nearest (network) hospitals had no rooms at the inn, so I’m in a hosp 45 miles away. So far things are going well. Unless there is a scheduling problem (too many surgical patients, not enough docs) I could be home as early as tomorrow afternoon.

Re: Using the iPhone 15 Pro Max for Travel
British - It's a 'geeky' thing. We are simply discussing the capabilities of the new iPhone post-processing capabilities.
There is no harm and people can and will take photos (and post-process them or not) in the way that works best for them. That said, I find this type of discussion much more interesting that discussions like 'What should I wear to dinner', etc. but others on the Forum don't. That's OK.
