Re: 1920's Night -Dressing up?
I'm bringing a grey pinstripe suit, black dress shirt. Don't have a matching hat, but the combo looks very 20's. Still thinking about tie color.
Re: Bicycle Types on Board Savor
Here's a photo of the bikes on the MS Emerald from 2017 (it's from a USA Today slideshow). Definitely hand brakes and I believe something like a 3 speed. The on board bikes are meant for short/impromptu TD led rides or self guided rides. For specific bike excursions listed in the itinerary, Tauck usually works with a local company to rent bikes and helmets. We did one on the Danube that was at least a 10 speed and often these days they use ebikes.
Re: Prescription Meds/Adaptors.
I just take the bottles, I only take 2 so it's easier for me that doing all the other stuff.
Re: Extensive Excursion Choices
Claudia the Ghent Altarpiece is magnificent, on one of my river cruises I did a tour with Viator to both Bruges and Ghent, it was so much worth it, at that time Tauck was not offering either of them, I think it was the Brussels to Amsterdam river cruise.

Re: How the travel advisory system works
I sure hope and expect they will clean up things at EWR fast. It should have happened long ago, and is quite the disgrace, but all eyes are focused on it, and nobody wants to be associated with failure. Where I would stay away from EWR is next year, when FIFA World Cup games, including the Final, will be played at Met Life Stadium. Aside from lots of flights, the traffic in the area will be epic, based upon the Super Bowl fiasco. Add to the mix that some of the tournament coincides with the USA Semiquincentennial (250th birthday), when there will be massive fireworks and a mega Fleet Week, and EWR on some days should be a place to stay away from due to airport and surrounding roadway congestion. Other cities will have some World Cup events and big 250th celebrations, including Philly which will have a World Cup Round of 16 game on 7/4/26 to add to the 250th stuff, so a number of US cities may have some travel dates to be wary of. We are coming up on flight ticketing for that time period, so beware.
Re: Welcome to Tauck's Rhine Connoisseur: Brussels to Montreux - Northbound Forum
Going on this cruise next week, leaving May 23rd, tour starts on the 25th, had to postpone from April due to my knee surgery so I can't wait. I'm just taking nice slacks and tops for some evenings, other ones I'll just probably wear what I had on that day.
Re: Green book and insider tips
- Green Book- before switching to an online PDF document, Tauck published a spiral bound book (with green cover) that contained copies of your final documents- contract/financial summatr, tour itinerary, arrival and departure info, etc., etc. Many of us still refer to the PDF as the "e-Green Book." You will receive this document as a link in an email about 60 days prior to departure. It is also in your "My Account."
- The best way to learn about Tauck and your tour is to follow the forums and search the sub-forums listed at the right side of this page. There is an echelon arrangement with tours listed by area. Drill down and read all the posts about your tour. Once you get proficient, you can actually search the forums by area, subject, author, etc. See "Search" block in the upper right.
- Insider tip, see #2 above.
Tauck has never published a forum user's guide.
