Re: Any alternatives to the Komodo Dragon day?
TravelinTracey - Upon completion, I will put together a recap.
Re: Tour guides
Four out of 5 land tours we've taken had post it notes that moved as we did and there was a sheet with them all listed.
Re: The Tauck 1930 Catalog reprint
I received the catalog, very interesting, I noticed the same thing about the luggage and agree with BKMD, with tour prices we pay I can't see them charging more for an extra bag, I've never had one and don't intend to in the future. The more I travel, the less I pack
Re: The Tauck 1930 Catalog reprint
I have to wonder when the guidance changed to eliminate the extra fee for tips or the conductor's (TD's) role in this.
When the tour price went up from 2 digits to 4 digits.
Re: Thoughts on Namibia Adventure
Sandy Feet pictured my oryx from the Omapaha Himba Camp Namibia. Aren't they sweet!
Re: Paradores of Northern Spain September 2022
We got to see it too and it is very memorable. We were told that Tauck makes a donation to be sure their groups get to see it. Another reason to use Tauck.
Re: Any single travelers on land journeys to Spain and/or Portugal 2025?
I made a friend who was traveling solo on the cruise from Glascow to Edinburgh 2023. We are doing Lisbon to Barcelona solo April 2025 on windjammer. . I am not sure if that is sold out I booked my eons ago. It's good to have a connection on the trip, tho I tend to wander as I am quite comfortable on my own on the trips.
Re: Tour guides
We've taken 17 Tauck tours - a mix of river and land. We have 2 more scheduled for the fall. We are pretty low-maintenance and non-demanding travelers. Overall, we have had great or very good TDs. The couple of doozies we had fortunately were on fantastic tours so aside from the TD they were great trips.
Our tour last fall used both the posted seating chart and the sticky notes. I am not good with names, so the sticky notes make it so much easier to learn the guests' names.
And for the first time ever, yesterday I received the little wallet with 10 euro for our upcoming Autumn on the Rhine.
Re: 2024 Wildfires
Indeed. There is more than one tour of the Canadian Rockies, so some degree of specificity would be appropriate. For example, the “Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park” goes no where near Vancouver or Western Canada.

Stellie- to get a photo to appear in your post, don't use "attach file." Just use the "attach image" button (icon with mountain and sun)- for photos on your computer, hit browse and select the file name of the photo in your photo directory. For an image somewhere on the web, insert the images URL in the appropriate spot.
