Trip Review Castles and Kings July 2, 2017

Tauck overall - white glove treatment from start to finish.

- London -

Hyatt Regency Churchill - 5 star hotel with 2016 renovations. Uber comfortable and Uber chic, ATM in lobby, American and USB outlets, digital toilet (not kidding...), digital AC controls, Babyliss blow dryer, and quiet close closet drawers and motion sense lighting. So many upgraded amenities...the roll away cot was better than a typical fold out couch but still short and less thick than mattress. Perfect for anyone 5'2" and less than #110. Breakfast was included each day. Buffet or menu items available. The buffet was presented like a provincial farmer's market and included many savory and sweets options. Location is great, easily accessible to many restaurants and shopping including UK's #1 department store, Selfridges, with its amazing food mall. Churchill even provides access to the private keyed garden across the street. Thoroughly impressed.

Sightseeing - Tauck hit all the highlights in London. The local guide, Diana, was a delightful lady full of British wit, charm and etiquette. The filler activities such as high speed river boat ride and the scavenger hunt (specially designed for Tauck) were hits with the teen boys.

- Paris -

Westin Vendome - not as recently renovated, lacking outlets of any type bedside, AC wasn't up to American standards but a fan was brought up which helped, but two queen beds was a blessing! The location of hotel is feet from ultra high end shopping, many restaurants, and best shops for hot chocolate (Angelina), best chocolate (Edward), and macaroons (Laduree).! The hotel lobby is charming and sleek at the same time. Prices for drinks reflect the cost of the rooms and the area. Food at hotel not as great as food at the Churchill.

Sightseeing - Allor...Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Norte Dame...all checked off. Montemarte is nice place to get pencil sketch headshot from street artists. Our local guide, Audrey, used the Whisper boxes inside Versailles and Norte Dame to impart her wealth of knowledge in a humorous manner which both adults and kids enjoyed. She was entertaining and went out of her way to make sure everyone had everything they wanted or needed. She and Gina, Tauck guide, made Paris safe and comfortable. D'accord?

We wanted to take all three of our guides home. The ladies were a true testament to the high standards set by Tauck.
