dinner times in Spain and Portugal
Hi. My wife and I are seriously considering taking the Spain and Portugal trip and according to the itinerary, there are 8 included dinners. We are aware how late Spaniards go to dinner and are wondering if someone who has taken this trip can comment on the time that the dinners are scheduled. Thanks. Mike

I'm not sure if anyone has answered you yet, but we took this trip and it seems to me most hosted dinners were around 7pm. If you are to eat on your own, at Tauck's expense in your hotel, then chose your own time after 6pm. But if you are out on your own, most places open late for dinner, 9-10pm, and you need a reservation if you chose an indoor restaurant. If you chose an open square restaurant, then find a table as soon as you can, and you'll be waited on. But you should plan a two hour dinner.
I'll never forget one place in Spain, we waited 2 hours at a bar in the plaza, just to get inside, I ordered the lamb and I was served an entire leg, knee joint and all! Yikes!
This was one of my favorite Tauck tours, we loved it.
