Girona and Figueres - day trip from Barcelona May 19?

We're on the Paradors of Northern Spain May 21. Girona is a medieval city and has a flower festival ending May 20. Figures is home to Salvador Dali and museum. Wondering if others have been to Girona or Figures and what experience has been, and/or if anyone is interested to join us before the Paradors tour? Thank you!
