in South Africa: An Elegant Adventure
We are wondering about connectivity for our IPad at the hotels. We are told we can use them without any international add-on features wherever there is wifi or wired internet connection at the hotels. Does anybody know any more about this? Also, a friend who recently went to South Africa to all the same places, had upgraded her smart phone for voice and data for the international plan, but was unable to get emails, only phone calls. Anybody else know something about this? Lynne and Gary

    probably depends on your carrier. With A T & T there is an international package for phone, another for text messaging and another for data. You can buy 275 megabytes of data for $99/month and if you cancel the plan after a two week period you are refunded accordingly. Most hotels have access to wi-fi, some will charge for it.
