Weather in China in June

I should have researched the weather in China in more detail prior to making my reservation in June 2018. I relied upon the advice of the person helping with the reservations, but lately I've been speaking with people who have lived or visited China, and the consensus (verified by belatedly checking the Web), is that it's very hot and muggy in June. Has anyone had experience on this trip during June who could give me their opinion?
