You probably chose a good time to go. We had great weather in January.
We went to Antarctica over the New Year (2021-2022). I did a lot of research on what to bring (clothing, etc.) and documented it at https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2021-2Antarctica-01.htm
I also did a lot of research on the Shackleton Expedition which you can see at https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2021-2Antarctica-06.htm We went to Elephant Island which is where the Shackleton Expedition spent four months after being marooned on the ice 15 months earlier.
I hope some of this will be of value to you as you plan your trip.
Sealord - Now that's fine sailing!
Ponant does have a certain amount of panache.
I was actually looking forward to having champagne on an ice berg, but we had it in a zodiac instead.
These photos are from our 2014 Antarctica trip with Tauck…seals were honored guests on the iceberg!
Leave it to Tauck! Great photos, Nancy.
