Free Time & clothing

We are taking this tour this year in June. It seems to have a lot of free time, particularly a full day on day 5 at Jasper Park Lodge. Does anyone who took this tour have any comments about this or suggestions for activities? Also, does the float ride require any special water proof clothing-will you get wet during the ride? Why is the weather like in June.warm clothing seems to be required as low temperatures are like.y to, e in the 40s (F).Thanks for any suggestions.

We stayed at the Jasper Park Lodge when we did the Grand Canadian Rockies many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You can golf, rent a canoe (for a nominal fee), go for a hike around the beautiful grounds and/or simply relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. I recommend visiting the lodge's website to see if they have added more activities.

No, you do not need any special clothing for the float ride. It is (was) an extremely gentle and slow float with some great anecdotal stories told by the gentleman who rowed. I remember him because he was so gracious and knowledgeable.

We traveled in Sep/Oct and had no issues with cold weather; cool weather requiring a light sweater and jacket at times. Just be sure to check the weather forecast before you go. Enjoy your trip.

We are taking this tour this year (2023) in July. What has been the experience of travelers taking this tour so far this year regarding the wildfires in Canada?
