We are taking the Vancouver and the Rockies by Rocky Mountaineer tour this year (2023) in July. What has been the experience of travelers who have already gone on this tour this year regarding the Canadian wildfires?

    My wife and I just returned from the Grand Canadian Rockies trip starting on June 16 in Vancouver to Victoria then on to Jasper on the VIA Rail's "The Canadian", to Lake Louise, to Banff and ultimately ending in Calgary on June 25. There was absolutely no impact from the wildfires! Some mixed weather (June 17-19) with sun/cloud mix and occasional drizzle/rain (especially while on the train)...from Jasper on just beautiful blue skies, snow capped mountains (Jasper had a snow storm the day before we arrived) and emerald lakes! Our Tour Director did mention that in the week before our tour, Vancouver did experience some of the smoke from the wildfires.
    We loved the trip; hope you enjoy it too!
