Cuba: A Cultural Odyssey 2024/2025

With the Cuba tour just starting up again, and no Forum page for the new tour yet, I would love to hear from returning travelers. We are booked for a January departure. Please share your impressions and recommendations. Thank you!

  • I went to Cuba in 2016. It's a very interesting place to visit and a cautionary tale for socialism. One of their major sources of their GDP is remittances from Cubans who now live in the US.

The Cuban people were friendly, inventive and welcoming. I would recommend a trip to Cuba.

  • We are booked on the Cuba trip that begins in Miami 1/18/25 and agree that it would be nice to get some feedback/tips from someone who has returned from this trip!

My complaint about the Tauck Cuba tour is that they don't take you many places in Cuba. It looks like a very limited tour.

  • I took the tour in 2011 shortly after it was first offered. I found it to be very rewarding and rich in culture and history The Cuban people were very welcoming. We learned about their excellent educational and healthcare systems and many other aspects of their daily lives. Obviously, traveling to Cuba is very different than traveling to Europe.

Managing perceptions and avoiding pre-conceived notions of what 'should be' will enable you to have a much better experience. I can certainly understand and respect how some people—due to deeply personal experiences—have no desire to visit the country. I am glad I went. I see, however, that the itinerary has changed quite a bit. For those traveling this month, I would love to read about your experiences. Please consider posting a review afterwards. Safe and enjoyable travels.
