Classic group or Small group for Morocco

Does anyone have a recommendation for the Morocco tour for the group size? Is there any difference in hotels, restaurants, etc?

  • If you click on "small group" under the list of availability and pricing, it will tell you that the hotel in Fez is different for the small groups. Better? Not sure. I think there are a lot of steps involved. Perhaps more quaint, inn-like. Search this forum - people have discussed it. We were there for dinner, and it was beautiful. Worth spending extra? I guess it depends on your budget.

We were technically in a classic group in 2021, despite the fact that we only had 11 people on the tour (this was during Covid). So we stayed in all the listed hotels. They were fabulous! The Ritz Carlton hotels were quite luxe.

I do believe that the bus size is the same, and the tour is similar. I have yet to go on a classic (or small group) tour with Tauck that was filled to capacity. People have to cancel last minute for a variety of reasons, and they don't seem to fill up. Also, be aware that a tour might have family or friends that are travelling together. This could impact the dynamic of the group, especially with a small number to start.

Either way, you will love this trip!

We were on a "small group" but there were only 14 people on the tour. This was back in 2022.

I imagine it will be pretty much the same as your tour, except the hotel in Fez (we stayed in the Palais Faraj). The hotel in Marrakech was very nice.

  • Thank you both for the information !

  • Did either of you travel during Ramadan? Would you recommend it?

MikeHenderson - I am enjoying reading your tour journal!

  • We did not travel during Ramadan. This was discussed somewhere on this forum earlier and I think the conclusion was to avoid Ramadan, if possible.
