Grasmere Back to Hotel

I am on the E,S,W tour starting August 8. Looking at the itinerary, after leaving Grasmere there is a choice of a steam train ride or a cruise on Lake Windermere. Does anyone who has done this tour have suggestions on which to choose? Both sound wonderful to me.
