I'm packing for the trip, and I'm wondering if we really need swim gear since it will be winter.

    The weather is South Africa in August is typically around 45-72 degrees. It is up to you whether you want to bring a swimsuit or not. You can also check www.weather.com before you leave to see if you need to toss a swimsuit into your bags.

    We did the Elegant Safari Tour in the month of September and it was nice to have a swim suit for the Soaking Pool that we had at Tinga. But, that seemed like the only opportunity we had for swimming or soaking.
